The Rules we have for Fallen Abyss are very important and a necessary evil. We want everyone to read them if we end up with someone that doesn't actually read the rules. Well then we have a problem. 1) No Scene Kids. Do not argue with the staff members over if your pb is "Scene" or not. Staff's word is final. If they say that you need to change your pb, please just do it. We've had issues with this before. 2) Staff's word is law. We don't tell you no, just to tell you no. We always have reasons. Don't fight with the staff just because you don't agree with them. 3) Word min: 300 words. You can do it. Don't fret. 4) Characters names should be as follows: FIRST LAST. Nothing fancy. Good? Good. AND A new account for every character. The staff may have their staff account and have it have one character like a Cannon, and than your next character will go on a separate account. ex)Amethyst- Admin account and is where Amethyst is played My second account is -Tyrion, Ect.. 5) No OOC DRAMA. We all have it, but try to keep it off site. This is a rather large rule. And there is a lot in it. Do not make any rude comments in the Cbox. Everyone can see it and we don't want other people to see your issue. If you have a problem-- please PM the Staff members. They will get back to you as soon as possible. Never fight in PMs, or IMs. If it involves the site, contact the staff. There is no reason for anyone to be fighting. 6) If we critique your bio, we're not telling you that you are terrible. We want as many awesome characters as we can get and we are just trying to help. So please don't take it personally if was ask you to add something to your bio or fix something. 7) Always post an away. Don't just create your character and leave. It's not fun for anyone and it's always miserable in the end. If you want to be here PLEASE be active. 8) No Mary Sues, Gary Stues or anything like that. Everyone knows what they are. If we feel your character is a mary sue we will ask you to change some things in your bio. This is NOT to be mean or call you names. We just want good rounded characters and no one is perfect or completely and utterly terrible. Everyone has problems, but on the flip side not everyone is a series of unfortunate traumatic events that have not effected them. 9) No God Modding. This pretty much means, no taking control of someone else's character. But it also means don't play someone into a corner that they have to react a certain way. 10) Open threads are awesome threads. Don't be afraid to start an open thread. It's a lot of fun to just jump in and see what happens and don't be afraid of that. Someone will always come along to answer it. 11) This site is rated R for violence, blood, sexual content and drug references. If you are offended by this please don't join. 12) If you have any suggestions or questions for the staff feel free to PM them or post a thread in the suggestions and questions board. 13) We are not going to put a maximum on the amount of characters that you can have, but please try to be reasonable. Do not add another character when some of your previous ones have not been in a thread in a month. You may not have a second character until your first character has been accepted and is in at least one in-character thread. It would be nice if we could keep an even number of girls and guys but I am not going to make it a rule. If you want to have all female characters, that is fine with me. Likewise if you want to have all male characters. But if it looks like we are lopsided one way or the other, I may change this rule or put a limit on a certain gender. As far as play-bys go, we are pretty open-minded. Feel free to use any actors/models/singers/celebrities. We just ask that you don't use random Myspace/Youtube kids, please. 14) If you have two characters, have a avatar of one, and a signiture of the other. If more than two characters have a banner leading to you character log so the boards don't strech. 15) No Metagaming. This means using OOC knowledge in character. For example someone who doesn't know about Ianto working for Torchwood One bringing up Lisa in conversation. 16) Write in third person please. MISC. 17) These are medieval times, no Ipods, no girls running around in tight tank tops and mini-skirts with their full body on show. No guys prancing around in nice, fashionable jeans. They wore linen, wool, leather and cloth, lace, silk, velvet if they were rich. 18) Women didn’t get pregnant before marriage and they were usually teenagers when the marriage occurred. Spinsters were deemed a nuisance to society and I suspect a pregnant, non-married girl would likely have been punished, unusally but being excluded from society, people would have looked down on them. So that’s a no to pregnancies to unmarried folk, unless you have expressed permission from the admin. 19) Don't make all the girls kick butt type, make them different, make them need to rely on males, make them realistic, there are few girls that I will allow to be that way, and the majority will be from the Cannon and the rebels. I know RPGing a girl who likes to sit at home and cook and clean might not sound fun, but would you want to be yet Another Kick butt girl? Same goes for the males, make a whipmy character, or a guy who is into science, since it wasn't really Science back than, make him a guy who loves to learnabout the world around him. 20) HAVE FUN! That's what the site is for! |
