There was was a time of tranquillity, maybe generations ago. The West and South Kingdom's both lived like brothers in arms. If war broke out upon one, the other would defend it's honour. This was how the kingdoms lived in peace. The towns people were happy with this, as trade between the two kingdoms where an exception to each others survival. Both had items that the others needed and wanted. So for a time it was happy. But the happiness was not to last. As the rebels were planning to attack both castles. But they had a cunning and devious plan. This plan involved two people, a brother and sister, called Reven and Delcia. And this plan had been in action for years.
From birth the two had been chosen by the chief of the rebels. And since they could walk and talk the two's minds where filled with the plot to destroy the two kingdoms. When both where young adults they decided it was time. Their job, was to get in favour with the two kingdoms rulers and find a way to turn them against each other. Delcia was the main focus of this. Delcia was a beauty to behold in any ones eyes and this was their advantage. At the time there were two young princes from either castles. Both were the reigning heirs when the time would come, and both where like brothers to each other. Delcia and Reven both went to work for either castles, Reven in the West and Delcia in the South. After awhile the prince began to take notice of her, which was exactly what was meant to happen and soon start to fall for her, with Delcia leading him on. When things became serious, Delcia suddenly vanished. And the South prince went searching for her but came back unsuccessful.
A few months past and Reven requested a position for his sister in court to the West prince. He accepted, and Delcia returned, only this time to bewitch the West prince. Soon of course the West prince had fallen for Delcia, but the South prince had not forgotten her and when he came to visit his brother in arms in the West, he saw Delcia. This was what the rebels had been planning. They had wanted them to fight over the girl. And they did. The princes both turned against each other. The South prince thinking that the West had kidnapped her.
At this time Reven poisoned the West princes father, the reigning King, and then told the prince he had seen the South prince do it. War broke loose. And Reven and Delcia went back to the rebels having completed their mission. When both of the Kingdoms defences where down, the Rebels attacked. For months war raged between Kingdoms and Rebels. But the kingdoms overcame their war and turned against the Rebels to defeat them. Barely. The land was torn into two. After the Kingdoms defeated the Rebels they turned against each other. Trade stopped between them and towns were torn. People had to side between the kingdoms, and those who didn't wish to reside with either turned to the Rebels, who plot again to destroy the castles.
That is the history of the two castles. But generations from then the Kingdoms are still split in two. The Rebels still plan revenge. But whose side will you chose? Will you chose the West or the South? Or will you chose to fight against them and become an outlawed Rebel? Thrown into a dungeon if caught? You decide who you stand with. Loyalties made and broken.
